Trick or Treating

Does your community hold trick or treating on Halloween or on a different time? Our has it on Halloween only if the holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday. Otherwise, it's held the Sunday before 4-6 p.m. I personally think it takes away from the fun because most of the time kids aren't able to go trick or treating on the day it's supposed to be done.

My community is the same. It's only on Halloween if it falls on the weekend if not it's held on the Saturday. The times I'm not sure cause i'm never home. Either at college or at a party with friends.

We found out last year (when we took our daughter for the first time) that most people seem not to be home for treak or treating any more. Maybe one house each block had a light on.

I think a lot of it wasn't so much they weren't home as much as they were too cheap to hand out candy.

awe that's sad. Around here everyone is home, even if they have kids, they have someone home to give out candy.

Many churches hold fall festivies including mine. The problem I have is they do it the Sat before Halloween so it's not exactly an alternitive. Many people will send their kids out as well Halloween as well.

It's illegal to send your kids out on Halloween here. Personally, it ruins the whole point of the holiday because you are essentially celebrating it on another day.

We don't really have anything that organised over here in the UK. In fact trick or treating doesn't happen that much, it's more an American thing i think.
