Do you keep track of your daily expenses?

I have a friend who always carries with him a small notebook that whenever he spends on something, he lists them down and totals them at the end of the day. I am not this meticulous and I often end up wondering where my money went.

this may seem a little extreme, but i dont think it would be a bad idea. a lot of people dont keep up with that kind of stuff like they should (including me) and i bet a lot of people would be surprised as to how much they actually spend in a day... i think this could help a great deal with people that carelessly spend too much money unnecessarily

i have seen the same thing with my former roomies. they used to note down every little expense daily basis. I'm not so metaculous either. I'm spendthrift and have never done that.

I dont keep track of my expenses daily. I do it in on weekly basis, I usually set an allowance that i will spend for that week.

well, i'm not that on track as your friend does, but i do have a monthly budget on my money and then after a while, i check if i do follow the alloted budget for the certain month. it is quite helpful for me having to keep track even not thoroughly becasue, it helps not to overspend my money on certain things and it also allows me to save money for future use and for better spendings.

I do try to keep track of things that happen in the day, that I want to remember. Im a nature person, I keep a nature notebook. Taking notes on nature and every day memories makes me happy later when I look over them.
