Last Jan 16, my company undergone some cost-cutting measures, and unfortunately for me, my position in the company was among those deemed redundant. All of a sudden I found myself jobless at 35 years old. Something that i'm not used to or familiar with. I'm married with 1 kid and I really want to find another job but the problem is, here in our country being 35 y/o is like a "kiss of death" when your applying for a job, branding you as too old for the vacancy. Its like a social stigma that will affect your chances of being hired. Very few employers will lay their hands on you, life's unfair in this part of the world...

You do not cite from what part of the world you now live, but rest assured age discrimination is pretty much a global phenomenon. In America, the cutoff is more like 50 rather than the 35 in your area (that is rather harsh indeed). However, you appear extremely bright and qualified, and since you have enough online savvy to hook up with Mylot.com and begin networking along these lines, you will likely want to concentrate on your geological area. The major Web sites for employment such as monster.com and craigslist.com are quite good, and I have had great success finding job openings in a variety of fields through those two sources alone. I, too, have been downsized out of organizations, and I have had a devil of a time dealing with my age (52) when applying. And, frankly, if I am an employer I will go for the younger blood in the hope of increasing productivity and cutting labor costs. That basic strategy, though, has changed since fewer qualified younger workers are available. They have to hire us old folks whether they like it or not. I wish you the best; if anything keep plugging along online and you might be able to channel your expertise into Internet-related enterprises. Income is slow at first but iut can mushroom ina hurry if you keep pounding away at it as you appear to be doing now.
