Anyone got an opinion on this? A few years ago it was carbon dated and they said was proved to not be as old as it would need to be to be the burial cloth of Christ. But recent tests have shown that the fibres that were carbon dated were part of a mended piece of the cloth. If it is a fraud, what is it and how did the image get on the piece of cloth?

i bet its the blood all over the body that is imprinted on the shroud. Real or not, the question is... Does that affect or change your faith? Does your faith lie on the piece of shroud?

Oh goodness me no, my faith is a lot deeper than a piece of cloth. I just find it interesting. They have identified a lot of blood on the cloth but the majority of the image is of an unknown material.

I believe it is the shroud from the burial of Christ. I don't think anyone really knows the exact dates of things that long ago in history and I don't think that methods of dating material that old are perfect either.

I tend to agree, I want to believe it is the burial cloth of Christ, but I would really like some scientific evidence too. What else can it be? The imprint is believed to be of the body at the exact moment of resurection because of the way the feet are placed.

I just watched a documentary about the shroud of turin from history channel a while ago. I want to believe that it was all the result of leonardo da vinci's brilliant mind. There is overwhelming evidence presented, but still i will conduct some more research on this. I'm just concerned of what the roman catholics are doing, they have a picture of this in every church. It seems, it's easier to prove that its not the face of Jesus than the other way around. And i wonder why the catholic church won't allow further test conducted on that shroud.
