Would you or do you take your animal into a store? I know that you can take them into some pet stores, but what about others? I think I might depending of the store and what the circumstance are.

We got a new puppy today...which I will be posting about tomorrow. And she is so little, she fit inside my coat barely noticeable. So, when we went to WalMart to pick up food, we took her with us! I was worried that someone would say something. But we didn't want to leave her in the car alone and scared when we just got her. AND it is too cold outside to leave her in that big lonely car. So, I just had to sneak her in my coat. I couldn't just leave her! And if they would have told me to leave...I would have just left and waited in the car. But it was a quick in and quick out.

I know some stores will tolerate it. I was in an art store last week and someone had their dog there. But, I wouldn't do it because of liability. I've actually seen dogs "that never bite" try to bite someone while stressed out in a store or other public area. Or, there might be fights with other dogs. I wouldn't bring cats there, that's for sure. For one, they usually don't like to be out in a place full of people (well, some cats do, but most don't). And, second, they are very allergenic and someone could get real sick.

In Scotland s in my countries we don't allow animals of any description into any stores , with the exception of guide dogs for the blind or hearing dogs for the deaf , for hygienic reasons xx

I would not take a pet into a store, other than pet stores because there could be people in the stores that are allergic to certain animals and it could cause a problem. Plus what is the pet decides to do their thing in the middle of the store. That would not be a pleasant sight or smell to have in a shop. A lot of barking would annoy people too that were doing shopping.

Unless they are a registered Helping pet then you will probably be in trouble. Health codes have a big say in many of the places we go. Especially those with food. If you find that you have success then let us know. I wouldn't travel with my pets, unless it was a well trained dog and he might be better served guarding my car with the windows down. Again well trained.
