I am reading this book and I find that it is taking me forever. I like the use of language. I also appreciate that the author is taking the other side of the Wizard of Oz story, but I feel like it is either me or it is just a slow read. Maybe I am mising something. Anyone else reading this book?

I loved this book when I read it. I flew thorugh it. The next part of it - Son of a Witch - I did find a harder read. I have read Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister and Mirror, Mirror and really enjoyed those books as well.

I am not sure if I would read the other books. I do think son of a witch is an interesting title though. Thank you for the reply!

I have read this book, and though I do agree that there are some moments where it's a bit slow, I think overall it's enjoyable and definitely an interesting look at the whole story. Hopefully you'll get out of a slow spot and back into it soon!

The story is great, and I love the alternate perspective. I don't know maybe I am just not dedicating enough time in one session of reading to fully enjoy it. Thanks for your reply!

I recently read the book and really enjoyed it. It does a few slower moments but for the most part it is an interesting and fun read. I thought he did a great job developing the characters in such a way that it still made since with the Wizard of Oz.

Thank you for your response. I also enjoy that he has kept the story plausible. I also like that he is discussing animals and Animals. This is very interesting in relation to politics in the real world. I feel if I can get a few more pages through it I will be happy with the book.

I've read Wicked twice. The first time I read it on my own and really loved it. It wasn't the type of book I usually read so I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. A year or so later my book club decided to read it and I was so excited! But it ended up not being so much fun. They over analized and picked it a part. Since then I tried reading some of Maguires other books and haven't enjoyed them nearly as much. Maybe I was just in the right mood that first time around. Good luck! I hope you end up enjoying it.

I read more of it last night, and I enjoyed it moe than usual. Maybe it is because I talked about it to someone. No one I know is very interested in this book. Thank you for the response.
