Renewable Energy Sources: do you believe in them?

I believe that carbon or petrol is about to end. In Italy gasoline price is so high (we pay 1.3€ per liter of gasoline! It's too much!) I think we need to detach from petrol and its derivates and begin to use other energy sources as hydrogen (fuel cells) or Solar power or Wind power! I've heard of new of some new turbins with can generate power and are not so big as the old orizontal axis turbin. These are vertical axis turbin (VAWT) http://www.daviddarling.info/encyclopedia/V/AE_vertical-axis_wind_turbine.html and here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wind_turbine#Vertical_axis http://www.windpower.org/en/tour/design/horver.htm There are some small generators, that can produce up to 3Kw of energy...they are small and can be mounted without taking too much space! We all could use them! I think that Eolic energy is still in the beginning and I hope all countries will use it more and more! I believe very much in Solar Energy too..termic and fotovoltaic. I've heard of new flexible panel, with higher output. Their output is higher when sun is more strong...so in the summer their output is at maximum! All homes and buildings must use them! I know..you pay in the beginning...but then you have for years free energy!

Governments world over should definitely encourage researchers to come with alternative and renewable energy cources, since oil supply will not last long and prices bound to go up now and then. In Brazil, they have already started public distribution of some vegetable oil. Similar attempts should be made elsewhere for alternative energy to run our vehicles.

Ok I'll try to search on this site if I get some info about power generating tools without using gas.

I believe we should be using renewable 'clean' energy. Though it seems we have a long way to go in terms of cutting our needs for gasoline and oil and toxic carbon materials from the commercial consumers (us). Our government on one hand have assured us time and again that they will investigate while on the other hand have flip-flop over the issue for more than a decade. Seems to me that there are some benifits for them and their unknonwn agenda. I believe they cannot be trusted. Though I'm fighting for more than one cause, sustainable clean energy and our environment.
