Are paid to read,Paid to click,Paid to promote real?

I wonder as if there is such a way of making money online?See what happened.Actually I heard of making money online through several means and one of it was PTR.I have joined 1 paid to read site recentlly and wonder if it is going to pay me anything or it is just a spam?Through that very site I came to know about many other programs like being paid to click(PTC) and paid to promote(PTR).
Has anyone of you have heard of such things and if you have joined this then have you ever been paid for this?

It is like everything else, some are good and some not.
But in any case I would advise you not to invest money unless you are completly sure about the site.
