Okay, My question here is, is anyone taking this herb, can you tell me a little more about what it can do for you, and are there any known dangers/side effects that you have experienced from this herb. I've been taking several herbs recently and i'm quite interested in Echinacea. So, if there's anything anyone can tell me about this that they have not found in readings, that has been actually experienced either first hand or second hand, please let me know.

I feel like echinacea worked for me and kept me from getting sick this past cold season. I took echinacea for two weeks and then went a week without and alternated like that to keep my body from becoming used to it. i did not experience any side effects and don't know that there are any?

My research does show that there are side effects, some of which include: Fever Nausia Vomiting... Anyways people can also obviously get alergiv reactions to it, but that wasn't what i was worried about. It's awesome that it worked for you... I'm hoping to get started on it as soon as i get all the needed information. Thanx

A Swedish friend introduced me to Echinacea. He is a martial arts exponent, vegetarian and generally in awesome health for a 60 year old. The advice I was given is to take a very tiny quantity - say about 10 mg either as a tea or in a formulation if I felt I had some sort of an infection coming on. If taken at the right time, no more than 30 mg in two days I have been able to stave off viral infections. So when all others go around with the sniffles, I breathe lightly! Cheers!

I have a friend who is a serius herbalist and she swears by echinace. I have tried it in different forms over the years, but I prefer the echinacea tea over the pills. I don't know if it does that much good but I have never had any of the side effects that you are mentioning. I guess it also really depends on who makes it, as you can get totally different dosages in what appears to be the same because the flower can produce a product of different strengths and concentartions. I guess it's a good reason not to buy the sale brand ;-)
