what is the difference between muslims,and islam ?

what is the difference between muslim and islam are they 2 religions or what are they? i have been trying to work out a few things about the muslim people/community but still dont know what they are all about . i would like to be able to understand please help.

I always thought they were just the same thing. Islam is the nation and Muslims are the believers, the followers.

It isn't so difficult you understand.The Muslim people believe at Islam as them religion.I' Cristian but my husband are Muslim so if you want ask anything else.....

Islam is the (deen)religion,while muslims are the believers of the (deen) It is just a western misconception to regard Muslim as a religion,they are the practitioners of the islamic religion,period!
