myLot giveth, then myLot taketh away again!! Just as well true myLotians are not here for the money!!lol.. OR for the point of being rated for their popularity..rofl.. The "star" rating system surely is a joke for the better part. I thought forums were a place where opinions were sought, poistive or negative, to obtain a broad spectrum view of thoughts and ideas. I must have my wires crossed!
If I hadn't resolved myself to just commenting in "friend's" discussions, and the odd interest catching discussion I may have been put off by myLots actions and gone to another forum. No doubt some would have jumped for joy at that prospect, but don't jump to early, I'm here to stay... well as long as I have the few friends I have anyway!! So from 9 to 8 now to 7...those of you who are adversley opinioned by me, you are just not trying hard enough... 0 is still a long way off..rofl...Lift your game!
I do notice that I am not Chris Columbus (a pioneer) in this happening either! So to those of you who experience this and have experienced, take heart in the fact that someone thinks enough about you to go out of their way to try to effect you!!

The problem comes in you have some that will give negatives just because they don't like an opinion. That isn't what a negative is for. It's for poorly done posts. Posts that are one word or one sentence, off topic, gibberish, or a foreign language. Those should be given a negative rating not just because you disagree with their opinion.
Trust me I've had my share of my ratings fluctuating. It happens to us all especially if we have a tendency to tell it how we see it or if we are posting on hot topic and we disagree with someone on the point. I just take it in stride. I'm not going to temper my writing just because of a few people who can't keep an open mind.

It does seem to be the trend, I know I have ruffled some feathers but as you say, tempering of words won't happen!!
I have very rarely given a neg. vote and don't think a neg. vote sould be given for a comment pertaining to the discussion.

Hahaha caramello, Rome wasn't built in a day and it didn't take as long to bring it down either!! I am not the only one experiencing this farcial occurance. Quite a few are being treated the same way! I get rewards now in communicating with friends I have made in here, that's reward enough!

They are terrible.
I would not care if your rating star went right down to negative 1000 (rofl).
I would still comment on your discussions, as I think that they are definitely worth the read.
I think that people who give you a negative reading are not really thinking properly, and do not know the real you.
Shocking.
You are not Robinson Crusoe (alone) in this either.
My rating dropped 2 star points, but DILLIGAF? (Read previous personal message).

Someone's star rating is not how I choose to respond to their discussions. It's the topic itself. I agree that some people are going around and giving negative marks to any response that differs from their opinion. That is NOT what a negative rating is for. It's a shame that so many people do not read the Guidelines, but it takes all kinds...and we certainly do have all kinds on myLot.

This star rating is mostly here for our amusement and, contrarily to what many people say, doesn't really reflect anything on you you, the quality of your discussions and answers, or such things. Just look at it as an added colourful bit on a white page. ;)
