Are we throwing away our elderly?

In the USA the elderly are soo often thrown away... it's so sad. I see so many that are just plain lonely, living in nursing homes, no visitors except for the few volunteers that come occasionly. Have people forgotten that these folks are what started our country?

well, some country in the west treat their grandparents in nursing homes. but in othr asian country they beleive in "close family ties". like us my grandmother lives with my auntie in the US.
