What type of snake do you like to have as a pet?

I have a little melanistic garter snake. He's beautiful.

Having kept snakes for years, if this is your first snake, I would strongly advise you not to start with a big python, because they get really aggressive the larger they get. I have found ball pythons to be the most docile, but they sometimes stop eating, which isn't a lot of fun. For a first snake, I would suggest you get either a red tailed boa or a California King Snake (the black and white ones one of our friends mentioned in the post above mine).

I have a 2-year old Ball Python named Snakey.

I am a big fan of black and white king snakes. They are so cute when they are babies, and so beautiful when they get larger. I also like hog snakes. They have such unique noses!
