It seems everyone wants 15 min of fame...Is Instant Celebrity Out of Control?

On Sunday night the Grammys showed three undiscovered girls who were competing to sing with Justin Timberlake. The millions watching the Grammys were asked to vote via text message and internet for the young lady the most wanted to sing with Justin. While I'm sure this was a great opportunity for these talented young ladies I can't help but be a little disappointed that an Award Show has gotten into the instant celebrity/reality game. The Grammy is supposed to be for recording artists who have worked to produce award winning music and those already in the industry. Feeding in to the instant celebreality frenzy only cheapens a such a prestigious award show. The Grammys were really interested in the long term success of these girls and NOT ratings then they would help them record an album. Perhaps I'm being overly critical. What are everyone's thoughts?
