What Do You Think Of Rob Zombie Re-Making 'Hallowe'en'?

I was perusing IMDB earlier today, and found that Rob Zombie is directing a new version of John Carpenter's 1978 'Hallowe'en'. Carpenter is credited with writing the film, so he may be involved in not making this another desecration of a classic film. What do you think of this? Do you like watching re-makes? Do you prefer the original? Do you think Rob Zombie is a good choice of director?

I hadn't heard about it ... but I'd wish people would come up with original storylines and new storylines, vs. just repeating the same movies over and over. Hallowe'en has been done, it's a classic ... why mess with it? Especially since with Rob Zombie, all that I would guess would happen is they'd throw away more of the storyline (what there is of it) and throw in more gore.

Halloween - Halloween, starring Scout Taylor-Compton, Malcolm McDowell and Tyler Mane
Halloween released in 1978 has a rating of 7.9 in imdb and the new Halloween released in 2007 has only 6. I haven't seen both the movies but it seems to be quiet interesting movie to watch ...
