if you had to cut corners and give up something in order to economise due to financial constraints what would you give up? my hubby goes to work by byke to save four bucks a day.. i don't go out during the week and we cook soup at night to keep our food budget less than ten bucks a day..so we can have our teat at the weekend.. if i had to give up now one more thing it would have to be my chocolate cake i have daily.. what have you given up lately or what would you if you had to?

To save money we avoid to eating out frequently. I always try to buy things on sale, be it grocery or other things. We avoid to buy coffee when we go outside. Sometime I try to buy usful things in bulk, to save a little.

I'm always working on ways to save money, both out of necessity and because I hate to waste money. I try to buy things on sale at the grocery store to save as much money as possible. Plus my husband walks to work, I trim my kids hair myself to save on barber costs, we usually rent movies instead of going to the theater, we keep the heater down to 65 degrees to save on fuel costs and there are other little things that we do or try to do each day.

I try not to economise on food as I think it is important for my children to have a good balanced diet. Instead I walk to school instead of driving, I try to use as little electricity as possible and I rarely buy new clothes etc.

We have had to do this in the past because I didn't learn how to handle money fast enough and got us into debt too deep. We cut back on things that were a waste. I stopped buying the coffee and muffin on the way to work, now I make that stuff at home. It saved me time getting to work to. That right there saved $3.00 a day immediately and that was a 7 day a week habit, so we saved, $1000.00 a year. I also drank Coca-Cola, about 3 bottles aday and I stopped that too. At least another $5.00 a day and that's another $1800.00 a year. I did other things to but we never looked at the big picture, just day to day, but we were shocked at how much I just wasted every single day.
