Do people actually read what the discusion says before posting a reply?

I was looking through the discussions I have posted on MyLot and realized that many of the resopnes do not add up with what I was saying in the first place. I find it annoying when someone goes off on a rant about something you wrote, when in reality what they "think you wrote" isn't what they are responding to. How many of you actually read what the person wrote? Does anyone else get respones that don't coincide with what was actually written?

I think sometimes people get in a hurry and scan over the article. A certain word or phrase catches their eye so they write on that word or phrase. A lot of the time that word or phrase had nothing to do with the topic at hand. I think everyone needs to take a break and calm down. We should all be giving the posters of discussions a fair response to their question.

its a wierd coincidence that i ran into this article just when i had just finished admonishing someone who had gone into a whole altogether different orbit while 'responding' to a topic. the way the person had responded,i was hard pressed to understand what was he ranting and raving about! i too had responded to the article and was following up on it when i noticed this 'reply'. it seems that some people are way too caught up in trying to post as many replies as possible to notch up their total tally and in the haste just start typing after reading a part of the topic.people should read the whole topic and the li'l underlying para and then decide if the topic appeals to them.even if they dont like the topic and still want to respond to increase their count, atleast they should keep it to point. now i just hope that the person i chided hasnt gone ahead and given me a negative rating!!
