I was staying with some friends in Kiawah Island, SC when we decided to drive back into Charleston and spend the day. I loved Charleston. Charleston is such a pretty town with so many historical buildings and sites not to mention the "straw market" and awesome restaurants. One of my favorite things we did was go on a ghost tour right as the sun was beginning to set. Has anyone else had an awesome time in Charleston?

I live in Charleston. I have been here about 3 years. Charleston does have a lot to offer and part of it's charm is it's history. Especially the old houses, plantations and stories. I've done the ghost tour also as well as a civil war tour. The aquarium is fun too, although I have to admit, it's not that great compared to some others I have been to. But it gets the job done.
I love hanging out down town on the weekends. Last Saturday night I was with two other friends. One was sick and asked the other to take him home. I decided to stay. I went to one of my favorite bars for some drinks and music. It was then I realized that I was out at a bar by myself. As a woman, it's not always the best thing to do. But in Charleston, I felt safe. I met some great people, both local and tourists and no one judged me that I was by myself. That's what Charleston is all about.
