Animals hibernate in the winter?

Not all of them and not all of the time. Usually animals like bears hibernate when it gets too cold, but for example certain places have noticed that animals have stopped hibernating like a story of the polar bears that has been circulating due to the global warming effect, some other animals that can hibernate are squirrels.
Some animals also do opposite to hibernation, instead of in the cold it's in the heat there's another name for it but I can't remember the name in English it's "estivar" I think in Portuguese, for example some species of snails.
Animals that hibernate spend a lot of time eating a lot till winter so they can accumulate enough fat to survive the cold winter in isolation.
