The past several weeks All My Children has been making me cry on a regular basis. First when Simone died, then Dixie died. Today when Babe died and Krystal lost it, I came close too. It was just too sad to bear. These characters are my friends. I hang out with them every day. My husband doesn't understand how I can be so attached to characters on a tv show. I grew up with these characters. My mom watched Ch 7 soaps when I was growing up and talked about them like real people. She liked to tell me that Jake Martin, Joey at the time, was born the day after me while she was still in hospital recovering. Then General Hospital is killing off Alan Quartermaine. At least they are dragging it out so I can get used to the idea. Also, I knew weeks ago that they fired him. He has been Allan for more than 30 years. It is just so unfair. Do your shows affect you this way too? Are the characters your friends?
