When I was younger, I loved every type of candy/chocolate or sweets available. It didn't matter if it was sour, sweet, chewy, or hard. I never took notice of the sometimes very artificial flavours and loved them all. But now that I'm older, I think my tastes are somewhat more refined. lol While I do eat chocolate, I find myself getting sick of them quite easily so I don't really stuff myself on chocolate anymore. My favourite chocolates would be something smooth like Lindt or with nuts (hazelnuts, almonds, peanuts) imbedded in the chocolates. My current favourite hard candy would be jolly ranchers. I don't know why, but I love eating them! What are your favourite candies? And would you say your tastes have changed or do you still like the same types of candies as you did in the past?

I wish I could say that my taste became more refined as an adult, but I still love some very gross articificial things. Pretty much anything by Wonka (a branch of Nestle) rates very high in my book. I especially love purple sweettarts. I would eat them as a kid until my stomache began to burn. The same goes for sourpatch kids. As I've gotten older, I would say that I've added some more sophisticated candies to my list of favorites. I love very dark chocolates and torrone with almonds. I also love Italian fig cake which is pretty much just dried fig pressed with candied citrus peels and almonds. So yummy!

I love Fig cake too! I know it has a lot of sugar in it, but figs are good for you :-)

Yes, I like to use the dried fruit as an excuse for it not being as bad for me. Sure it has loads of sugar, but figs and nuts are full of nutrients. That makes it better for me than chcocolate so I'm doing myself a favor.

I love to eat anything sour, that will make you scrunch up your face The only thing better is to give it to someone else who doesnt know its sour and then watch their face, hilarious *puts a sour gobstopper in his mouth and his face takes the form of an old ladys* yum yum

My tastes have definitely changed over the years. Much like you I really loved sweets as a kid, but as I got passed age 20 my cravings for sweets became less and less. Now at 40, I still occasionally like a piece of chocolate, but I tend to stay away from gum and hard candies.

i usually pick for chocolates more of the time than of candies.... i sometimes grab a sour patch gummy candy if i feel like enjoying the sourness & getting my mouth busy chcewing for a gummy :) i see some candies to be of so much artificial colors that's one of the reasons i'd always go for chocolates specially with nuts!

Yeah, I think my tastes have become a little more refined. Some types of candy are just too sweet for me now, for example, Circus Peanuts, which my boyfriend loves, make me want to retch! Some of my favorite candies are licorice (black and red), Jelly Belly jelly beans, and most things gummy. I think I perfer things that are fruity to things that are chocolatly, but I always have.
