Discovery Insitute February 8, 2007 Seattle - Another 100 scientist have joined the ranks of scientist from around the world publicly stating their doubts about the adequacy of Darwin's theory of evolution. "Darwinism is a trivial idea that has been elevated to the status of the scientific theory that governs modern biology," says dissent list signer Dr. Michael Egnor. Egnor is a professor of neurosurgery and pdiatrics at Sate University of New York, Stony brook and and award - winning brain surgeon named one of New York's best doctors by New Yourk Magazine. Discovery Institue's Center for Scince and Culture today announced that over 700 scientist from around the world have now signed a statement expressing their skepticism about the contemporary theory of Darwinian evolution. The statemnt, located online at www.dissentfromdarwin.org, reads: "We are skeptical of claims for the ability of random mutation and natural selection to account for the complexity of life. Careful examination of the evidence for Darwinian theory should be encouraged."........... "More scientists than ever before are now standing up and saying that it is time to rethink Darwin's theory of evolution in light of new scientific evidence that shows the theory is inadequate," said John West, associate director of the Center for Science & Cultue.

This should be enough to put to rest the point about that ridiculous list of "scientists who disagree with Darwin": http://ncseweb.org/resources/articles/3541_project_steve_2_16_2003.asp

Actually, it doesn't even come close. What's your point here? The scientists on the list don't exist or they don't believe what they say they believe? So there are thousands of scientists who believe otherwise. And? Evolution is more than just a theory, it's an ideology embraced by both scientists and non-scientists alike. Micro-biologist Michael Behe has commented on several occasions the social pressure amongst scientists to accept the theory of evolution. He's come under fire for even daring to think objectively and question the theory. Again, that's only one of many lists of scientists. The only inference I can draw from the site you posted is that it doesn't matter how many lists there are or how many scientists are on them, a person who clings steadfast to the ideology of evolution, who desperately needs to believe in evolution will always find a way to do so. "Throughout the past century, there has always existed a significant minority of first rate biologists who have never been able to bring themselves to accept the validity of Darwin's claims. In fact, the number of biologist who have expressed some degree of disillusionment is practically endless." - Michael Denton, Evolution: A Theory in Crisis (1986) pg. 327

Correction - No one is saying that stellar evolution is biological evolution.

LIAR - you said that Stellar Evolution is part or The Theory of Evolution, and you knew that by theory of Evolution we mean biology, and it is so that every time we speak about other things they come with their class attached (as in Chemical Evolution, Social Evolution, etc.). Now you want to change what you wrote? Stick with what you believe. Is your faith that weak?

Any scientific theory should be open for ctiticism. Evoulution is a theory which is very far from being a fact, however, it is being taught as a fact which is really strange. Science was never based on assumptions or jumping to conclusions, and if a theory like evolution is not falsifiable, then it doesn't even qualify to be scientific. It is good to see some scientists who have the courage to stand against the tide.
