Frustrated with your Gateway laptop or computer?

I have a Gateway laptop which I hate! I have only had this computer for right around 2 years. When I still had the warranty I had to send my computer in for minor repairs (the port where the adapter plugs in was loose). The computer worked just fine, except for Internet Explorer. When my computer was returned to me from Gateway....it was completely different. The casing on my computer was even different. I argued with the man at the counter who told me the serial numbers matched and that it was my computer. He told me that they also had to completely replace the mother board. I did not want anything replaced without my permission. I am not happy. This is not my computer! Its a huge piece of crap! What should I do? I think that it was replaced and I received a much older model, possibly something refurbished. I want to kick this computer and burn it and then send it to gateway(lol). Any suggestions? Is it just time for me to purchase a new computer? Thanks!

Oh Carrissimo, I am so sorry to hear you are having computer problems. Seems like we cannot live without our computers functioning at 100%! What did we do before we had computers?! I have a Dell laptop because the Gateway desktop that I had before the laptop was a large, stinky piece of sh*t that caused me to lose my religion on more than one occassion! It was in the shop more than out, had to have the mother board and several other parts replaced. I hated that computer from the day I received it. My hubby and I swore that when we replaced it, it would be with anything but another Gateway! We now have a Dell desktop and a Dell laptop. My two highschool children are members of the local college's summer scholar program. They are given laptops to use for their entire four years of highschool and when they graduate that laptop is replaced with a new state-of-the-art laptop to take away to college and it belogs to them! I notice that the college uses Dell laptops too! BEst of luck with your Gateway.

I was under the impression that Gateway computers were very good brand. Wow, apparently not! They say we should replace computers every two-three years. Maybe you should replace it already.
