How much snow did you get today? Was there anything on the ground when the school by you was cancelled? Do you think that they called off school too early, or was it prudent to cancel when they did?

I'm in NY (southern tier-upstate) they cancelled school today around 5:30 am... We had around 9 inches of snow then... It is still snowing! We have about 13-14 now.. I'm glad they cancelled school. I'm almost certain there will be none tomorrow either. My daughter was pretty upset (She's 10).. they had a big Valentines Day party planned. I told her they would do it tomorrow. : ) We spent the day doing fun things-- It was a snow day for me too--- Couldn't get out of the driveway until after 10. We then delivered Valentine goodies (flowers to my mom and grandma)... So no I don't think they cancelled school too early.

Yesterday they went to school, but at about 9am they decided that was a mistake and let everyone out 3 hours early. We had a lot of ice overnight, this morning there are a lot of trees down. They cancelled school for today, even though most of the ice was melted by 8am. It's supposed to freeze up again tonight, so I'm sure there'll be no school tomrrow.

We are on the west coast of Canada and had a typical day of around 45 degress and a mist happening. We do not get much snow here but I have lived in Windsor as well as up in the Rocky Mountains and enjoy an occasional snow day.
