I have a red velvet opera coat with matching purse in excellent that belonged to my grandmother when she lived in San Francisco before the 1906 earthquake. Coat and purse are both lined in red satin and appears to have been all hand stitched. Label on coat has name and address of above store. I'm looking for any information about the maker, store, or the possible value.

You might want to contact the Antiques Road Show, they have a website. Also good places are to search for vintage clothing stores (high quality ones) in the Los Angeles area. You could also do a search on the company and see what they made, if they are still in business etc.I did a search on the address, there is a health club at the location you gave, so I guess the clothing store is no longer at that location. Good luck with it. It sounds as if you have a magnificent piece in your hands.
