The Nigerian and Mexican Tradational foods

The Mexican Tamale is similar to the Nigerian moyin-moyin, is there a relationship between the Afrians and the Mexicans? is there any conections between the two cultures? my research is to know whether there is any historiacl connection between the two cultures because of the similar food they have.
