No, I have never seen a godfather movie before. What is the point of the movie? I really want to know, but I got no time to watch it because it is so long. Isn't a guy who obeys his godfather's every command? Can someone give me a clue on what the plot of the story is about?

It is about a family. Where the father is a gangster. Try it on Net Flix. That way you can see it in pieces.

ya even i like the first part.Since its release in 1972, "The Godfather" has become an indelible fixture in popular culture. It defined the gangster genre and continues to serve as a benchmark for all the films that would follow in its footsteps such as "Goodfellas" or "Scarface".overall its a great movie

Out of all the parts of Godfather even I agree that the first part is the best one without any doubt. Many would say that the movie is very slow but I will say that the slowness brings an amazing chilliness to the movie and it is one of factor that makes you intensely relate yourself with the movie. The cast of the movie is great and they performed really good. The acting was excellent and the storyline was definitely one of the best. It is always difficult to make a good movie from a novel and a director was very much successful in that. Although he made a few changes but I think that is very much a prominent with all the movies and it is very essential. But he got the gist and the movie felt like what it should have been so I think this is one of the best movies according to me made in the Hollywood.

I saw it at the cinema when it was just released and today I watched it on TV at a late movie show. I loved it. That proves for me that the picture (The Godfather) has aged well. I saw all 3, but I`d have to see them together again to answer yyour question.

The Godfather - The Godfather, starring Marlon Brando, Al Pacino and James Caan
First part of The Godfather was the best, Marlon Brando as The Godfather couldn't be replaced by anyone else. The 2nd and the 3rd part were watchable but not as good as the first part is ...

'Let me make you an offer you can't refuse' Classic line that has gone down in history. The first I think was the best because it laid the foundation of the family 'business' and charecters. How the women really were kept out of it and often totally in the dark about all the killings. Their husbands the doting family man, cuddling their children and later killing someone elses grown up child in cold blood.

I agree the first Godfather movie was the best to me also. Al pacino was so young in this movie but a cutie.

I love them all. My favorite is GodfatherII.I feel it is better than I. It has two stories in one.You get to see how The Godfather came to America. And how Michael trully became the Godfather.Al Pacino is better in this one than all the others. Also it has my favorite scene. So I don't give too much away, let's just say it is beteen Fredo and Michael.

at first i don't want to watch the movie because my first taste of the godfather was the scene where bela got caught and his hands were held by a knife or fork all i thought was, this is too violent this is too gory for me but when my housemate got the 3 dvds i got curious so i started watching it my gosh!!! i was absolutely sorry for the many times i passed the chances to watch it. i love the first movie, love robert de niro i love the scene about the horse of the filmmaker, classic! love this line 'make him an offer he can't refuse!'
