are there any real green day fans out there? im talking about the fans that have been listening to green day since before dookie came out, back in the days of 1039/smoothed out slappy hours and kerplunk. im not talking about the black-eyeliner wearing green day, im talking about the green day that was about teenage angst and fun music. if your out there, give your opinion on what you think of this new green day.

I have been wondering the same thing. Green Day used to be all balls to the wall. They did whatever they wanted when they wanted and didn't care what anybody thought. Then I think nimrod came out and they wanted a more "mellow" rep. I personally hate it. Their music is turning into a pop band, not the rock band that I used to rock to in high school. I wish they would go back to their older music because it was fun to rock to at concerts and at home.

thank you for the response. even when their cd "warning" came out, they were starting with that whole political vibe they have now, take the song "minority". i still liked them though, that was a great cd. i do still like green day, i mean, their my favorite band. they always have been, always will be. i just wish they would quit this whole faze theyre in, what their doing is trying to reach out to what these young fans want to listen to.. their kinda like my chemical romance and whatnot. i miss my green day :-(

'Kerplunk' is actually my favorite album Green Day. But don't get me wrong, I LOVE 'American Idiot'. I think they did a great job on it, and it was one of their best albums artistically.

Heh.. my first Cassette was Kurplunk and my first CD was Insomniac. I'd have to say Insomniac is still my all time favorite cd.
