My son had allergies, and the allergy doc said birds are a no no if you have allergies, b/c of feathers. Cat hair is bad too for some people. Poodles do not shed hardly at all. None of ours did anyway, and my son is not allergic to them. I also heard that Chihuahua's are good for allergies/asthma. I would think a short haired dog would be best b/c of the hair and all, but you might want to check with an allergist or a vet first. Good luck.

Poodles do not have hair: they have wool, so thjey are unlikely to cause an allergic reaction. Poodles are also a very friendly and faithful dog and are quite suitable as a house pet.

I think Bichons are quite good. My friend has allergies and she has two of these and they do very well. I'm not sure if it is because they are shedless or have less dander, though.

I don't think any dog is best. If your allergic to one dog, than you have to be allergic to the others. So the best thing to do is to get a pet that you won't be allergic to.
The best pet that I can reccommend is a bird of some sort. Because I don't thing that anyone is allergic to birds. I never seen someone allergic to birds before...

its hard to find a small dog that isnt going to give your husband an allergic reaction, there is all of that hair in the house and none of it is good for allergies, I would just try to stick with no pets, or get an outside dog.
