Baby Shower and Baptism ideas

For practical moms like me, it's best to add a little personal touch to your invitations or giveaways for your kid's babyshower, baptism or birthday. This can also work for other events like wedding, etc. For my baby's babyshower last year, I custom made some perfumes to give to my friends. For his christening, I melted some chocolates and molded them into lollies and some in small boxes as souvenirs.

I have always done this too. I crocheted a basket, which we stiffened and used on top of my wedding cake, filled with icing flowers. For christenings, I've crocheted wee booties, using crochet cotton, which turn out really cute. Fans for weddings. I have also embroidered cards for special occasions. When my s-i-l got married two years ago, they asked for money and so I embroidered a card that they could keep as a memento. I also did one for my b-i-l to send to a friend. When the children were small we always did something special for their birthdays. One year was wee helicopters, filled with popcorn, that each guest got to take home.

I think these are really great ideas. It's always good to add a bit of a personal touch to any gift you give, especially when you're trying to mark a special occasion you want everyone to remember.
