Actually I think I did it wrong!!! I have a 2 year old baby girl and when she was still 1 year old I let her watch TV like barney and other cartoons and until now she is really fond of watching TV but I notice something to her. she is becoming impatient and I remember what my friend told me that children should not be left watching tv for hours because of the fast facing of images they are becoming impatient. Now I am trying to limit her TV viewing.

Barney is good thing to watch, my daughter also become more active dancing and singing. what i am referring to are the commercial breaks , i noticed her staring badly at the TV and stop what she's doing when its commercial break. Barney is good.

We warch TV for about 3 hours in a day. My son after he completes his home work, will be permitted to watch cartoon network for 30 minutes and a serial in local language for 30 minutes. On sundays, he may spend little more time watching tv.Since he is high achiever at school, we do not make objection to it.

As long as chores and schoolwork is all done they have a say in what is on television. As they do less they lose their voice for viewing. Television is part of our family and not the ruler. Life goes on and we do not just sit in from of the television very often. More often than not we play a movie since we don't find alot to enjoy on the television.

My niece and nephews often stay in my place and my house rule is that finish your studies and homework first and after that you can watch or play till you drop.

i haved toddlers and my problem is they watch too much tv so what i do is i set playtime so that they would be busy doing physical activities rather than watching tv.we just borrow good movies such as disney movies so that they would also learn something from what they are watching, and we getto screen what they will watch.cartoons nowadays are too much violent than before, that scares me.i don't want to see my kids fighting.
