If the " Black Box" flight recorder is never damaged during a plane crash, why isn't the whole airoplane made out of that stuff?????

It's a lot easier to make a small compact thing crash proof. if we could invent a shrink ray, and shrink ourselves to fit into the black box we'd never have airplane crashes. It's the surface area of airplanes, and the need to make them light, so that they can fly, which makes them breakable.
