I'm going to ask this question because it's below freezing here in Wisconsin yet I still see people, mainly children, wearing shorts and light jackets because they feel it's more stylish. Personally, if it's cold out, I wear layers. I don't care what it looks like. And, my daughter will not be out in shorts when it's 20 degrees outside (like a child I saw walking to school today).

it is different here. it is hot and humid and people do dres like they are off to the north pole cause it looks fashonable. yeh i agree the clothes are nice. but it juz looks plain ridiculous to be all covered up in this heat!

Feel sorry for the poor child and take care of yours. I taught Kdg. -- 1st the last 4 years in southern Tennessee. It doesn't get cold there like it does in Wisconsin or where I am now in Iowa, but it still gets down to freezing. I felt so bad when I had children coming in all winter without coats, wearing shorts and short sleeves, and sitting around shivering all day. I went so far as to buy some warmer clothes for some of the kids.
