Be glad you dont live in New York. Astate representative in New York wants to ban people from listening to their ipods in crosswalks.Just when you thought the goverment couldn't nanny you any more, some jackass comes up with another new way to tell you that the way you live your life is wrong. When are people finally going to stand up tp these bullies? What are your thoughts on this?

Next thing you know they will be telling us what color we have to paint our homes. If they would just spend time seeing that the laws we have are enforced instead of trying to get them to make new ones, life would be simplier. I cant believe that they would acturally consider this at all. LOL

Its getting out of hand with everything, and this is sad we dont even have much of a choice anymore to do what we want. They are running our life .

Well, technically, if you live in a new development, they DO tell you what colors you're allow to paint your homes.

Let me see if I have this right. The cops of NY will be stationed at crosswalks checking and watching people's ears for earbuds while terrorists sneak into the subway and gas millions of people. Sounds like a great movie too. Geeeeezeeee.

As busy as the sidewalks of NY are..I can say ..I can see a little reasoning..I think people gets so involved with their music they run right into other people..moreover on crossing if they have their earplugs in they can't hear if a car is about to run them over;)+

I agree with the premise that we should pay attention when we are stepping out into the street. I do not agree that this is an issue for government, as I believe that it would be pretty well unenforceable. I also feel that the effort that would go into this could be spent on more serious crimes. It is time to get real.

I heard about this awhile back and thought that it was going a bit far. Just so long as they aren't banning people from listening to them _anytime_ they're walking. Walking is boring enough without being able to take something along to listen to, lol! I can kind of understand them not wanting people to listen to something that might block out the sounds of traffic at crosswalks, but I still think that we are being regulated too much.

This is ridiculous. You're a pedistrian; you have the right of way regardless of any other circumstance. If someone hits you, they're to blame. Period, end of discussion.
