i have done many things to surprise my boyfriend, from cooking to drawing and I have even gone as far as getting my mother involved to make him a bday surprise. However, he has always given the best surprises. Xmas eve he showed up completely unexpected at vermont around midnite (thanks to my parents for the conspiracy). He bought me a locket and put our baby pictures in it (yes me and him). In addition, he surprises me with flowers and all of my favorite things. I always want to do the same for him but I never can, plus I am super broke thanks to nursing school. Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to make him feel as special as he makes me feel?

He sounds sentimental. Maybe make him a nice homemade greeting card with a poem written by you inside for no special occasion....just because you love him. Or even just tuck little love notes into his pocket for him to find later. Suprises don't have to be expensive or elaborate to be special. :)

The best place to receive a special surprise, is at work. Has he ever sent you flowers to your work? If so, I'm betting it made the day go so much easier. Usually, work is about as unenjoyable as you can imagine; however, it doesn't have to be, especially if you're on his mind. Here's what I did for my girlfriend. I wrote a personal poem about what she means to me. I went out and bought a cheap remote control car at toys r us. I slid the poem through the windows of the car, taped a single long stemmed rose to the roof, and took it to her work on my lunchbreak (fortunately she only worked 15 minutes from my place of employment). I slipped into her office, shhhhed her co-workers, and put my plan into action. I remained hidden, but close by, and I drove the car into her desk chair while she was working at her computer. Her reaction transpired from humored, to surprised, to adored. It was priceless. And even better when she called me immediately afterwards to thank me, only to recognize my ringtone was a few feet away. All in all it cost me $20, and an extra 10 minutes on my lunch break.
