Hello everyone!! I am planning to upgrade my old computer. Now, I am in a dilemma. I don't know whether to go for an AMD Athlon processor or an Intel Pentium IV Dual Core processor. Some people say AMD is better and some say Intel is superior. I've asked about 6 computer professionals regarding this issue. 3 said AMD and 3 said Intel. Please help me as soon as possible.

ok lets take a little explain, and hope this right ^^!, if perfomance is your main target, than you should go for Intel, but not intel pentium series, the newest intel processor on market for common user is intel core2duo, yes it fast as lightning, but you should know also, computer is not only about processor, there is also memory, motherboard, harddisk, vga, etc, all of them should be balanced to get the best perfomance on one system, if you could balanced all those peripherrals power than go for Intel.

Definetely if cost don't matter for you then Intel is the top priority .Intel is excellent in all the feature which any body can expect from a company .This is the leader in the industry of it's category .AMD have some problem with high temperature as i heard from one of my friend .

i prefer AMD since i am using one.I use AMD because --comparatively cheap --high performance --high stabilty --greater support for gaming i recommned AMD FX 64 bit computing. It has many advantage over intel pentium 4 processors.but i heard that intel pentium duo core2 is much better than other precedures and a like performance with AMD 64.so i f you are going to buy a new computer either you go for AMD FX 64 or Pentium 4 Duo core 2.
