I hope my guess is right more than 80% of the newly graduates in Highschool are taking up Nursing. The Filipino Nurses are in demand in US. I know a mother who finished optometry and later took up nursing. Her son is also a nurse and her daughter is taking up nursing. My neighbors all their children are taking up nursing. I cannot find a family that is not sending their children to take up nursing.

Philippines is sinking into poverty, politics is messed-up, economy's struggling, and one of the wealthiest countries in the world are seeking for nurses all over the world to satisfy their needs for better health care.. what to do? well, everyone needs to live on something i guess.. and there are alot of ways to do that. nursing is one of the most common and profitable jobs out there and maybe that's why everyone is sending their boys and girls to school to study nursing in the hopes that someday they'd be able to get out of the cycle of poverty here in our country. it's hard, believe me; when the nursing population in universities starts to swell up, expect more and tougher competition (if you are a nursing student of courze) and there will certainly come a time when nursing aren't much gonna be in demand as compared to now. remember when IT was a 'boom'? think about all the IT students now, they're trying so HARD to land a job, so much for a course that promised them more... bydway, i'm taking up nursing myself, suddenly it's so hard to see yourself in the future especially if you're thinking of all the fishes in the sea...
