Do prefer to shop online or in the store?

Both options have their advantages and disadvantages. I like shopping online because the internet is always open and I can shop at anytime of day, in my pajamas! However, shopping in the store is nice too as I can try clothes on, touch stuff, see what it really looks like in real life. I also don't have to wait for it to be delivered if I shop in the store.
I tend to shop online only for books, cds and shoes. Especially if I can get a better price online than in the store. When I shop online I like to link through ebates.com so I can earn a percentage back as well. heres the link:

Otherwise, I tend to buy makeup, clothes, household items and personal care items in the stores, where I can see the item in real life.
Which do you prefer and why? Or are do you split up your shopping as well?

I tend to shop in the store for things that I want to try on, like clothing or shoes, but if it's a brand that I already own (and therefore know what size I need), I will buy online instead. Anything that I don't physically need to be in the store to buy, I buy online, mostly because I don't like to be bothered with sales associated or other shoppers. (I'm pretty anti-social at heart.)

It depends on what i'm buying, and also whether it works out cheaper to buy it online. I buy a lot of books, cd's and DVD's etc online becuase i don't really need to see them before buying them and they often work out cheaper to buy online. However, i don't buy clothes, shoes underwear etc online becuase i like to be able to try those kinds of things on first befoe buying, and also feel the fabrics, and i can only do that if i buy them in a store. I don't get my food shopping online any more becuase i've had so many problems with it! I do tend to buy candles and bath things online, which you may think odd becuase i can't smell the products first, but the sites i go on are ones that i trust and have often used the products before so i know what i'm getting. There aren't many local shops that sell candles and wax tarts etc so i like to buy those online.

If I'm not sure exactly what I want and need to look around for it then I look around the shops. It doesn't always mean that I get the item there though I still might go onto the internet for it if I know I can get it cheaper.
