Do you ever make your own pizza at home?

if and when you do, do you bake your crust or do you buy the prepared crust and just put on your own toppings. I haven't tried to bake my own crust yet, instead I buy a prepared crust from Trader Joe's, aptly named Tabula Rasa, and put on pizza sauce and my favorite toppings. Sometimes I'll get the Boboli crust as well, but the TRader Joe's one is definitly my favorite because it gets all crispy and is seasoned nicely. What toppings do you use at home? I usually use mushrooms, turkey pepperoni, green and yellow peppers, olive and sometimes roasted red peppers.

I normally buy the pizzas that the deli at our local grocery store prepares and cook it up. We have made homemade pizzas before but I normally buy the Boboli crusts. I buy the smaller ones and then the kids and I create our own pizza. That way everyone can have what they want on their own pizza. My daughter will only eat hawaiian pizza (ham and pineapple), my son likes to experiment with different meats but that's all his basically are.. a variety of sliced meats and a whole lot of cheese. I like mine with all sorts of stuff on it - anything and everything I can find :)

I like your style. I make stew and pizza the same way. My mother used to call is gottogo. Things in the fridge that needed using. Your pizza still has the same basic ingredients you love but is different every time. As for take out pizza I love Papa Murphy's Take and Bake. Good Quality, Great taste and a lot of pizza for your money.

Chargrilled Vegetable Pizza - One of my favourite pizza recipes
I do a mix of both, sometimes I buy them and sometimes I make my own. My favourite topping is mushrooms, I can't get enough of them. I also like them with peppers. Here is my favourite pizza recipe: http://www.recipesforvegans.co.uk/chargrilledvegetablepizza.html

I have printed your recipe and cant wait to try it. I am not a vegitarian, but I love veggies and can usually live without the meat. I have been looking for recipies with sun dried tomatoes and have a friend who has introduced me to some wonderful tofu dishes. At the risk of asking a dumb question ...what is courgette. Thanks for the new pizza recipe.

MMMMMMMMM pizza! We used to buy frozen dough from the grocery store and make pizza ourselves, but friends of ours gave us a bread maker (machine) and now we make our pizza dough that way. It is a pretty cheap and inexpensive way to make it. We use regular spaghetti sauce for the top and grate cheese, german salami and veggies (peppers and mushrooms). Every other Saturday (or Sunday) are pizza days (my daughters' school have a pizza day every Fri, so we don't have it every week) but we all LOVE pizza!

I bake my own crust but off course that is not like take outs. I add 3 tea spoon of dry yeast in warm water and a pinch of sugar. Then make a dough with the yeast and 3 cups of flour and necessary water and 2 tb.sp. of vegetable oil. Then let it set for 45 minutes and then again mix it well. roll to a big round circle again allow to set for 10 minutes and add toppings and bake for 20 minutes.

I don't really like homemade pizza. It always comes out too crunchy or burnt or just doesn't taste good. I'd much rather order out.

I don't use those products because we don't have the in my country. When i'm making a pizza, I bake it on a simple bread with cheeze and some tomatoe sauce. I'm adding Tuna, and onions as well, and it comes out very tasty!!

All the time! We never order pizza from the pizza place any more. I get the whole wheat pizza dough from Trader Joe's (over by the cheeses), roll it out at home, top with pizza sauce, black olives, sauteed onions, garlic, mushrooms, and spinach, toss it in the oven, and poof! Almost instant dinner--and cheaper and more delicious than any we could order out.

I sure do! about the crust, we make the crust our selves by buying pizza dough, and making a pizza. We add tomato sauce, cheese, and lots of toppings like pepp., olives, sausage, meatball, and sometimes others like bacon! (or even ham!)

I've made my own crust. I love to make bread, but i haven't been able to lately with how busy things have gotten. i love to load a pizza with all kinds of veggies. Makes me think i'm eating healthy, but when you think about it, making the pizza yourself has a lot less grease on/in it then when you order out.

Yes i have. It's not your typical pizza tho. I make the base pretty much just like dough and then i use beans as i'm not keen on tomato source and then i sprinkle cheese and make the sides slightly higher. Ham and whatever else i thrown on and then it's in the oven. It might sound nice but as i kid i loved these. I haven't done it since school but it's pretty lovely when i do. Kudos! ~Joey
