Harry Potter fans shocked at Daniel Radcliffe

I was listening to the radio this morning and one of the top stories was the outrage of the fans of Harry Potter at learning that the actor, currently doing a play, appears naked on stage. Personally, the thought of pigeonholing this fine young actor into one role, where he is not allowed to persue anything outside his first and most famous role is absurd. Yes, he may be Harry Potter in film, but as a young actor, he is also 18 and more than capable of exploring other aspects of his abilities, wouldn't you say? There are many roles in theatre where nudity is featured... Hair is the one that most readily comes to my mind, and there are dozens of actors today that give up perfectly 'clothed' roles to join that cast!!
What do you all think? Should Daniel be concerned?

I can definitely understand why he would do it. So many actors do get pigeonholed early in their career, and either wind up out of the business entirely or playing almost the same roles forever.
However, I can also see how it will lose him a lot of fans. I've already heard people talking about how they no longer want to watch the Harry Potter movies, or about how disappointed in him they are.
Overall I think it was a gusty move, and I admire him for it. =)

HAHAHAHAHAHAH.
I don't know who THOSE fans were.
But every harry potter fan i've ever encountered wants to see this play (and daniel naked).
But i agree, just because he played Harry potter, doesn't mean he shouldn't be allowed to do other things.
But i still stand firm that i'll never allow myself to see him naked.
In my head all i can think is "ahhh you're harry potter! put a shirt on!"
Mostly because i just picture him in the sorcerers stone, as a kid.

I think he should be able to pursue the role he wants to. The reason people get shocked however is they tend to believe in the movie. It's like someone that plays good roles for a long time and suddenly play a bad role, or are in series then choose to go to a movie, sometimes people don't accept these changes as in their fantasy world those people don't belong there. People sort of idolize the part as if it were real. There have been a few cases of people that were stalked in real life, an example of this was a Brazilian soap that the girl's mother has a young boyfriend and then the boyfriend falls in love with the daughter. A lot of people would come up to the young actress asking her how could she do that to her mother. I guess people get so into the movie that there's a fine like that makes them not be able to separate what's real from what's not. That like in this case the young boy isn't some innocent kid and is a young professional actor with the will to choose any part he wishes as he wishes.

I think it's absurd that people are angry at this budding actor's flourishing career. He's allowed to explore other facets in acting, and just because he started out young doesn't mean he hasn't grown up. He's an adult now, and free to do whatever he pleases. Oh, and I'm sure the people critiquing Mr. Radcliffe have never actually seen, read, or heard the play; it's an incredibly lovely piece of literature, of art, and should be given the respect it deserves.

what the hell is happening??!! daniel radcliffe(our harry potter) should not do this. he should be concerned about it as it can affect his acting career. this will not be right at such a young age

i am not his fan !!!
cause i dont like all thaese movies and stuff............................ but still it is not right for a celebrity such as him he should have beeen tleast a lilttle bit concerned!!!!!!
but its his life his choice his fame his dignity and every thing......................................
but if u ask mehe should have looked before he leapt!!!!
to be very frank if i was in his place i would have never taken such a part!!!!

I think ppl need to come back to reality....he is NOT Harry Potter..Harry Potter is a fictional character, Daniel Radcliffe is a REAL PERSON who only played the part of Harry....Daniel Radcliffe is coming into his own in the acting world as an adult and I think ppl need to stop confusing him for Harry....and I say all the power to him cause damn he's growing up to be a hot looking young man!!

Well i dont think we should typecast him ...He cant b Harry Potter for the rest of his life !!!!....Yes he is the one whose face has been acceptd as Harry Potter...But he should b given chance nd freedom to select whatever roles he thinks are best for him !!....

Daniel shouldn't be worried. He is an actor. He's bound to do other movies/plays other than Harry Potter. Also at 18, he can make up his choices of what he wants to do or not.

i felt very bad after hearing that.he would not hav done such type of things.although he is a junior n upcoming star he cant do such type of things.

I was shocked but I love it. He's so matured, that's why he did that role. Anyway, it's not obscene. It's for art's sake and let's admit it, Daniel's sexy right?! So why hide his beautiful body. It's for the sake of the play. I admire him for that. Such an open minded actor.
