Eat a slice of bread with some white Vinegar on it. This will negate the acid in your stomach. It works.

Meg if you have had it this long then I guess you better consult your Doctor. I used to get it during the Pregnancy but apart from that I have only had a few times. Also Heartburn can be set of by Stress to. So go to the Doc and see what they say.

You can buy over the counter remedies for it. But I have heard all sorts of home remedies....yoghurt, sucking mints, glass of milk, sucking small squares of chocolate! Good luck with it, if you have any other symptoms or it persists go see your doctor. You could be getting it like your friend said due to the foods you are eating...it is caused by stomach acids rising...hence the burning feeling.

And now, i'm gaining a lot of weight because of that and i still feel it from time to time. . . smoking, overweight and overeating, those are one of the factors kaibigan! .... btw, "kaibigan" is the filipino word for friend. ... Hi Megan, I suffer from this too and it's only since my daughter was born. It's because of the acid build up in your stomache, you can get medicines to help with it but failing that I find eating a bit of toothpaste eases it really well!
