What is your hair like? Is it coarse, curly, tightly curled, and would you want to wear it like you do now at any point? If you're looking for a permanent solution, a salon would be your best bet, where you could get, in essence, a "straight perm". Of course, as your hair grows in, it will resume it's former state. If you have wavey hair or hair that will straighten with an iron, a ceramic straightening tool and appropriate products (hair spray or creams/gels, etc.) will allow you to straighten it when you wish, and leave it "as is" when you want to go "natural".
