I'm planning to buy a PS2 from the U.S...

I'm eager to get my hands on this console, which is more than my requirements actually! ( I have amonster of a system, but I bought this console just to avoid hampering the performance of my Comp with games... ) But my question is, as it's from the U.S, will the Game DVDs I buy in India be compatible with it? Is there something like a region restriction?? And does anybody here have nay idea about the latest line of PS2 gaming consoles ( Like the latest variant... ) Thanks, and eagerly awaiting your help!

Unlikely because the games you purchase from India are most likely to be PAL (not NTSC like in the US). Therefore the format will be very different. I am not sure if these guys deliver to India, but check them out for multi-region playstation 2's... www.ghost2fitter.co.uk I can't recommend them highly enough because I got mine from them because I have loads of NTSC games that I couldn't play in the UK machines...
