My thoughts on Australia......& Sporting ties...

I have to be very careful as to what I say, & choosy in the words I use...why? because I have many relatives on the other side of the Tasman, most of whom have chosen to become Australian citizens & whose children are Aussie born....can you imagine then what I get to hear & am constantly reminded of when they return to visit me here in New Zealand...it goes like this! "Ozzie! Ozzie! Ozzie! Oi! Oi! Oi!"......well, all in good fun. The Aussie arrogance can make & sometimes break them...my observation!! example ; they are tops in cricket...held onto the ashes against England just recently,,,,,but then lost their way losing the final matches against them....they are at present here in NZ to play in the Hadley/Chappell tournament.....& wait for it, their 1st game, were thrashed/routed in fact.. their worst display in the last 10yrs....wow, do hope they improve today, in their second game...will wait in anticipation for the outcome....are you following me........What happened to the sporting invincible Aussies....Rugby...they'll have to pick themselves up quickly if they hope to win the world cup this year in France....if NZ doesn't win it, then my guess is Sth Africa could take it out....Oh by the way NZ holds the Tri Nations silverware & the Bledislow cup....What does Aussie have???? think I've made my point, for those who think....What makes Aussies good at sports...we're only human you know!!! So the question could be, given that New Zealand is such a small country (4 & a 1/2 million people only) What makes NZ a prominent sports contender worldwide....& on a last note...WATCH THIS SPACE!! NZ IS BRINGING HOME THE AMERICA'S CUP...Now what do you think of that...your comments please, or a riveting discussion would be great!
