What's the best mystery novel you have ever read?

I love mystery novels but I havent read that many and I want to start again but I dont want to waste my time with sorry books. What are some good mystery novel and their authors?

One the best was a Gothic mystery, "The TellTale Heart" by Edgar Allen Poe, I really love the classics! You might get some really good reading advice from Fiction Web http://www.fictionweb.com/ they've got the stuff that you might be looking for or someone on the site can point you in the right direction...
