Have you got a story about a very large fruit or vegetable that you grew in your garden? Or maybe once you had a crop of something that just seem to keep on producing fruit or vegetables. Whats the most strange fruit or vegetable that you have tried growing and how did it turn out?

There's a lime green decorative plant that seems to have become popular in the last few years. It's called a sweet potato vine. It trails nicely out of pots, etc. and has such a distinct color and is a nice contrast when mixed with other plants. In the fall when I pulled it out of the container I was surprised to find the container full of sweet potatoes! Supposedly this is not the kind that you eat, but still.... I thought it was just an ornamental plant!

Thats interesting, it would of been a suprise to see those potatoes. maybe a search on the internet on sweet potato vine may give you some information on whether you can eat them or not. thanks for your comment.

Actually I did that and it's described as an "ornamental" so you probably can't. I'm not about to try and and see though, lol. I thought it would be much cheaper though to go and buy a sweet potato at the market than buy this plant at a greenhouse. I did but the foliage was different.

My favorite fruits are apples, bananas, peaches, oranges and strawberries. But my stomach does not agree with apples and bananas, which get bothered after eating them.It is great that you eat so much fruit. Yes, pears can be delicious. Buying from street stalls is an excellent way to save money. I have seen the prices get incredibly cheap at the end of the day. When I was a teenager we used to get unwanted greens for our pet rabbits. Much good produce in the way of fruit and vegetables is thrown out if nobody buys it.To be honest I eat more than five fruits a day, probably why I am so regular! I love fruits, my favorite is a nice crispy Brae burn from the UK, I hate soft apples, they have to be really crisps.
