As an avid writer and/or reader do you beleive in censorship? Has it ever affected you personally from partaking in any activities involving publishing or accessing reading materials?

Censorship is bad, it is fascist and immoral. Freedom of expression is one of the things most people in the free world consider to be one of the most important freedoms. I absolutely hate when people call for censorship of certain books or movies. Sure I think that things should come with ratings that let the possible reader/viewer know if the contents are adult in nature at all, but I do not think any book/movie should ever be taken out of circulation by the government. The only thing close to this I experienced was back in school a librarian pulled all the Stephen King novels because she read IT and found it crude and thought children should not be reading it. But really I just went to the public library and took out the books I want. On a side note I agree with the previous poster if you want to get opinions on an issue you really should at least state where you stand on the issue. To me it almost looks like you are just trying to get points for creating a topic that alot of people will respond to.

I don't think that censorship is ever a good idea. Its never affected me personally, but I don't feel that people should be limited to what they can and can't read.

yes, i believe that censorship can do a lot of good things to our young children., there's always the right time, the right place for everyone. and i hope this will go on for a long time this censorship coz not everytime we can see what the children can do.

First off, if you are going to ask a question like this you should at least give your point of view in your post. I usually don't answer posts unless the poster has taken the time to do that. In this case though I feel so strongly about it that I get my thoughts out whenever I can. Censorship is wrong! Nobody has the right to tell me what I can or cannot read... what I can or cannot learn.. what I can or cannot see.. I'm in control of my own life.
