As I browsed through MyLot just like any other day, I happened to see several discussions that were on Top, or Hot Discussions. I saw a guy posting something about website earnings, and referral investment. Being interested, I clicked on the links, and realized it was a pyramid scheme (a non-sustainable business model that involves the exchange of money primarily for enrolling other people into the scheme , usually without any product,or service being delivered

No doubt, you did the right thing but I understand your feelings very well. I find it hard to report someone, even if I see he/she is violating the rules. I rather give a minus. I'm sure it depends on where I'm coming from (my country was about 50 years occupied by Soviets and every time I hear or see the words "reporting someone" brings me KGB in mind...) But of course, it's time to overcome the shadows of my youth now... lol! I have seen a lot of referral links in discussions, and it seems, it's benefitial to do so but of course it's strictly against the rules. If such a discussion will be deleted, then everyone who answered it will loose points as well.

I think I made some referral links in some of the discussions few days earlier. After realizing it was a bad move, I think I had also repented from it. But seeing that certain discussions consists elements of scamming, conning, or giving false opportunities, I guessed it was better to report it than to let it continue. Fortunately, the discussions that was created by that peron has nearly zero responses. The most he had was like 2 responses. By the way, I also reported that he has multiple similar posts on MyLot, that part kind of disgusted me as well. Its a so 'called' two violation of myLot guidline. Just need to get rid of that bad feeling. Argh.

In my opinion what you did is the right thing. No one should use myLot discussions for mean business promotion especially a pyramid type MLM. It is against the guide lines. So your action was right.

Hello saintz87..... The moderators of mylot cannot keep up with all the worthless and misleading posts, they need the members here to help by reporting any posts that should be reviewed or removed. Tom

Since it is against the guidelines, we should all report these things when we come across them. I don't think there is anything wrong with that. If the member has violated the rules the discussion will be removed. They need to learn to follow the rules and if they aren't reported they will continue to break them. Mylot has reasons for the rules they make, so let's help them out by reporting/downrating when necessary.

Well to veer a tiny bit off of subject, you should do what you feel is right and obviously you have done so, don't ever doubt yourself. I have always heard "I would rather be sorry for something I did than somethingI did not do." Ok, to take the Stuart Smalley spin off now :-) I myself find it hard to play bad guy and let these go even though I wondered about them. (I am fairly new around here.) I have reported one person and it was for an all out personal attack which really ticked me off seeing as I am here for the civil forum. You know, no trolls. If I ever make a dollar or two, great but I am having fun. So i think you are doing the right thing and they cannot on their own keep up with things as someone else said. Great Topic and good luck.
