ChaCha guides or those who know about it- How do you feel about this site?

First of all, I'm not here to blast ChaCha because I've heard some good things about it and it sounds like it could be a good way to make a little extra money while doing something enjoyable. I heard about it for a long time before finally asking for an invite and downloading their application. It's an interesting concept and I love doing research and helping people find answers to topics I'm interested in. However there is one thing that I'm leary about concerning ChaCha. It's the choices that you have on how to get paid. The choices are either opening a bank account with First Intersate Bank of Indiana(they give you an online application and you are issued a debit card which your ChaCha earnings are transferred to). Or you can have your payments directly deposited into your current bank account. For one thing I'm not eager to open another bank account where I'll have to pay maintanance fees and withdrawal fees (2.00 per withdrawal when using the debit card) nor am I very comfortable in giving out all of my banking information in order to get my earnings deposited into my bank account. If they could issue payment by check or into PayPal I'd feel a lot better about it. So, since I'm not past the training level on ChaCha I'm wondering if I should even go through with this. Am I being too cautious concerning the payment methods? If you work with ChaCha, what has your experience been concerning payment? Thanks for any remarks or advice.

I choose the debit card method. Yes it is not too fun having $2.00 deducted from your pay but it's worth it. I mean this way you get your money instantly with out having to wait on checks or payment periods like with other websites. It's like an ATM card where you get charge 2.50 and up if you use one that isn't affliated with your bank. Cheers.

What if you live in Indiana and have a First Indiana Bank nearby? Do you still get the fees?

I am having the same worries about ChaCha. I am also in training but I don't like the fact that I have to open up a bank account through the mail or give them all of my current bank account information. I kind of gave up on it after my first training. I would much rather not earn as much here and not be pressured to answer a question in 2-5 minutes. Let me know if you are going to continue.

I was disappointed by the fact that they cut the time limit to 6 minutes. It makes it kind of hard to give personalized attention to someone. But it's still kind of fun to try. I'm just not sure if I'm going to continue but will let you know if I do. Thanks for replying.

Hello! Well first of all I was a little cautious when I learned that those were their methods of payments. I've been a guide for a couple weeks now and made over $100 so I decided it was time to open that bank account. I'm happy to say that all my money is safety in my regular checking account! The withdrawl fees are a bit irritating but I suppose they could be worse. My First Internet Bank of Indiana account is working just fine and so is the debit card they sent me! If I were you I'd continue on with your training and go ahead and do the bank account, I know I'm not the only one that's been paid without any problems and I know we could all use a little extra money :) Good luck in whatever decision you make!

I'm glad to hear that it's working well for you and that you're having a good experience with the payments. I guess one of my biggest hesitations as far as the Bank of Indiana account, besides the withdrawal fee, is the fact that there will no doubt be some kind of maintanence fee charged for keeping the account. At least I've never heard of any bank not charging some type of maintanence fee. Thanks again for letting me know how things are going for you. :)

I'm still in training and chacha trainees can't give out invites. You might want to ask that as a seperate discussion here in this forum or you can look at places like craigslist to request an invite. Good luck!

Go to wahm.com and go to the message broads and join. after that you can look at the chacha folders and ask if anyone has a invite. the wahm website is for mothers or fathers who want to work at home, and theres alot of job listings and people to talk too.

To: johnscoolplace I sent you an email so you can request an invitation to be a chacha guide. It's an application form to see if you're qualified for the job. As a chacha guide, you will be an independant contractor. You pay your own taxes. You must be over 18 years old and currently reside and legally authorized to work in the United States.
