I grew up swimming on a team and I lifeguarded as well. I have taught swimming lessons and assisted with coaching. As an adult I would like to become a swimming coach. Does anyone know the requirements that I would need to do this? I'm pretty sure I have to have my WSI, but I'm not sure what else I need (besides CPR and First Aide).

swimming coach - swimming coach demonstrating the proper hand technique in breaststroke
I became an assistant coach while I was in college, to tell you the truth there isn't much requirements here in the Philippines if you want to become a swimming coach. The best credential you can have is your swimming status, if you won lots of medals back when you were a swimmer then more parents will hire you as coaches of their children. I suppose you should ask the swimming coaches in your area as laws can vary from place to place. Good luck!

In my country, in order to become a swimming coach, you have to go to sports college and graduate of course. You need to be extremely healthy and have straight As in physical education in high school. These are the rules here. I don't know where you are from, but I guess it's kind of a general fact...
